My relationship with Sarkodie has gone from bad to worse after my book- Yvonne Nelson reveals

SARK-AND-YVONNE

Yvonne Nelson recently said that she no longer has friendship with legendary rapper Sarkodie, citing differences that were made worse by the information revealed in her autobiography.

In a recent interview with Onua FM, the well-known actor and director conveyed her satisfaction with her choice and encouraged young ladies to voice similar complaints.

Yvonne Nelson admitted that she could not change Sarkodie’s interpretation of what she had done, as the memoir “I’m Not Yvonne Nelson” describes it.

She stated:

“There was no discord between us. We aren’t close friends, and following the events detailed in the book, our friendship waned. It’s acceptable for individuals to harbor differing sentiments, but that shouldn’t hinder anyone from narrating their truth.”

In 2023, Yvonne Nelson caused a sensation when she revealed in her book the specifics of her decision to end a pregnancy she had with Sarkodie in 2010.

On Sunday, June 18, during the book launch at Peduase Lodge, Ms. Nelson described the experience in Chapter 8, pages 88–95.

Yvonne Nelson went into detail in the book about why she chose to have the abortion since Sarkodie wouldn’t admit to being pregnant.

She recounted:

“I underwent a pregnancy test accompanied by Karen, and upon receiving the result, I lacked the strength to open it. Karen did and announced the outcome.

“‘It’s positive!’ she exclaimed.

“On any other occasion, I might have burst into laughter, initiating a cascade of cheerful banter and jokes. However, this was no laughing matter. It was a somber revelation capable of upending my world.

“Realizing that I wasn’t solely responsible for the situation, I reached out to the man whose seed had taken root in me.

“His name is Michael Owusu Addo, a celebrated Ghanaian musician widely known as Sarkodie.

“Sarkodie was a burgeoning musician with the potential for immense success, but at the time, his future seemed uncertain, his path through life shrouded in ambiguity.

“Success wasn’t assured. He was still living with his mother and was unwilling to shoulder responsibilities while being supported by her.”
