Using FaceTime on PC: An Easy-to-Follow Guide for Windows Users

Since Apple hasn’t released a native FaceTime app for non-Apple devices, using FaceTime on a Windows PC might be difficult. You can still take part in FaceTime calls, though. This is a simple tutorial that will assist you in joining your next Windows computer FaceTime session.

Unfortunately, you cannot start a FaceTime call while using a PC. If an Apple user invites you to join the conversation, though, you can still do so. How to do it is as follows:

Step 1: Getting Your Invitation to FaceTime
Request that a friend who owns an Apple device create a FaceTime link straight from the FaceTime app and send it to you via email or any other messaging app.

Step 2: Answering the Phone
After you’ve got the link:

  1. On your PC, open it with the Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome browser.
  2. Click ‘Continue’ after entering your name on the webpage that appears.
  3. When requested, grant the browser permission to use your microphone and camera.
  4. Press ‘Join’ on the website and bide your time till the call host accepts you.

Using the PC’s Restricted Features
You have limited capability as a PC user on FaceTime. You can adjust the microphone’s mute and unmute.

  • Turn on or off your video.
  • Leave the call by pressing the ‘Leave’ button.
For a complete experience, you’ll need to use an Apple device, which offers additional features like watching movies or listening to music during a call.

How to Make a FaceTime Connection (Apple Users Only)
To build a FaceTime link and invite friends who use PCs, Apple users can do the following:
Start the FaceTime application.
Select ‘Create Link’ 2.

  1. Look under ‘Upcoming’ for the new link.
  2. To share the link, tap the ‘i’ button next to it.

Even if FaceTiming on a PC isn’t as smooth as it is on an iPhone or Mac, it’s still a practical method to keep in touch with loved ones who use Apple products. Just keep in mind that the only ways you can join a FaceTime call from your Windows PC are through an invite from an Apple user and a compatible browser.
